met on Tuesday from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm to discuss a variety
of topics, including AAMP's financial status, future AAMP
convention locations, AAMP's website development, as well
as AAMP's membership services. |

Pre-Convention
Workshop |
| |
AAMP's
Pre-Convention Workshop was held at Koch Equipment LLC in Kansas City, MO. This interactive workshop covered such topics as vacuum chamber and skin packaging, shrink packaging, rollstock packaging, labeling, package design, overwrapping, case-ready M.A.P. packaging, green packaging, chub packaging, and clipping. This workshop was intended to provide attendees with information regarding the various packaging technologies available to small meat processors.

Reception |

president's reception, hosted by Tom Inboden, was held in the Atlanta Ballroom
Foyer at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center on Wednesday evening.
The event gave AAMP members
an opportunity to make new acquaintances and reunite
with old friends and colleagues in the meat industry. |

Welcoming
Session |
| |
AAMP
members filled the room for the welcoming session
to officially begin the convention. AAMP President,
Tom Inboden, welcomed everyone to the 70th Convention
of Meat Processors & Suppliers' Exhibition Thursday
morning. The F.W.
Witt Supplier of the Year Award and the Accomplishment Award were presented during this session.

The

The
exhibit hall opened at 1:00 pm with a presentation
by AAMP President, Tom Inboden. while surrounded by members of the AAMP Board of Directors and convention attendees.

The
exhibit hall was filled with 161 booths representing
98 suppliers exhibiting throughout the 3 day trade
show. Other activities such as meat industry demonstration areas and a kid's competition
were also scheduled in the exhibit hall.

Welcome
Reception |
| |
The
Welcome Reception was held at National World War I Memorial. Members
of the Missouri Association of Meat Processors (MAMP)
greeted attendees as they arrived at the reception for
a fun-filled and relaxing evening.

American
Cured Meat Championships |
| |

Although
the 2010 American Cured Meat
Championships began on Thursday afternoon.
Products were evaluated throughout the day on Friday by experienced judges from all sectors of the meat
industry. A total of 747 products were entered
in 26 classes, including this year's Annual Featured Class
of Cured, Smoked & Cooked Pork Ribs. During this years award ceremony the Outstanding Service Award was given out.

Innovative Linked Sausage Product Demonstrations |
| |
Attendees looking for new product ideas attended this demonstration on Friday morning. Two of your fellow meat processors produced hands-on, from start to finish, one of their most popular specialty sausage items. Over 150 came to see Louis Muench, Louie’s Finer Meats, Inc., Cumberland, WI, discuss the production and marketing of his Brewer Bratwurst Sausage and Bill Dayton, Dayton Meat Products, Inc., Malcom, IA, his Cheesy Hash Brown Sausage.

Bacon Production Seminar |
| |
|
|
There were over 200 people in attendance at the Bacon Production Seminar on Friday afternoon. This hands-on demonstration was geared to provide attendees with information on the variety of bacons that your industry colleagues currently market. During this three-and-half hour demonstration, experienced processors presented on the following products: Rick Reams, RJ’s Meats & Groceries, Hudson, WI, produced deer bacon; Doug Hankes, Thrushwood Farms Quality Meats, Galesburg, IL, pork bacon-injected; Gary Bardine, Bardine’s Country Smokehouse Inc., Crabtree, PA, pork bacon-dry cured and beef bacon; Bill Dayton, Dayton Meat Products Inc., Malcom, IA, cottage bacon-whole muscle; Jon Frohling, Frohling Meats Inc., Hecla, SD, specialty- flavored bacon, irish bacon, and cottage bacon-restructured; and Jason Jennings, Jennings Premium Meats, New Franklin, MO, jowl bacon.

AAMP Golden Cleaver
Trophy acknowledges the member who has recruited
the highest number of new members to the join the
American Association of Meat Processors. The
2009 Golden Cleaver Award went to David Downs, Mar/Co

recruitment on behalf of AAMP. David recruited
eight (8) new members.

Air & Space Museum |
| |
Convention
attendees gathered at the Strategic Air & Space
Museum to join AAMP as they wraped up the 70th American
Convention of Meat Processors & Suppliers' Exhibition.
Attendees were able to tour the museum throughout
the evening, as well as enjoy a great meal.
The
Accompliment
Award and the Achievement
Award were presented, the Grand Prize winner
was drawn, the new AAMP President was introduced,
and the incoming and outgoing Board of Directors
was recognized.

U.S. gateway departure city, five days' and four nights'
accommodations (compliments of the Hyatt Regency Crown
Center), complimentary convention registration and
tickets to AAMP's Welcome Reception and Saturday evening
function for two (2).
