The Food Safety and Inspection (FSIS) will hold a public meeting on June 26 to present the results of an expert elicitation relating to risk-based inspection in processing plants.

The meeting, which will focus on the results of the second expert elicitation related to inherent product risk, is the fifth in a series of technical summits FSIS has conducted this year to address various elements of RBI. The purpose of the expert elicitation was to collect data on the relative risks posed to public health by various types of processed meat and poultry products.

The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 107A, USDA Jamie Whitten Building, 12th St. SW, Jefferson Drive, Washington, DC 20250. The meeting will also be available by audio hook-up by calling 800/857-1742. The call leader is Dr. David Goldman, and the passcode is FSIS.

Members of the public should pre-register for the meetings. For online registration information, click here . For further information about the meeting or to request special accommodations, call Sally Fernandez at 202/690-6524 or e-mail sally.fernandez@fsis.usda.gov .
