The
senators who will serve on the conference committee for
the farm bill have been named — the latest step in the bill's
long, slow journey through Congress.
Five Democrats and five Republicans are on the list, including
Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), the ranking member of the Senate
Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. Sen. Tom
Harkin (D-Iowa), chairman of the Senate Ag Committee, also
will chair the conference committee. For a complete list

The conference committee will work on merging the Senate
version of the farm bill with the House of Representatives'
version.
