Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Small Entity Compliance Guides

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published several Small Entity Compliance Guides to help small businesses comply with new regulations that were promulgated as a result of the Bioterrorism Act of 2002 (http://www.fda.gov/oc/bioterrorism/bioact.html).

Recently, the FDA published two new Small Entity Compliance Guides. The booklet What You Need to Know About Administrative Detention of Foods was issued to inform food manufacturers, processors, packers, transporters, importers, and exporters about a new FDA bioterrorism regulation that is in effect. FDA also published, What You Need to Know About Establishment and Maintenance of Records to inform domestic persons in the U.S. that manufacture, process, pack, transport, distribute, receive, hold or import food; foreign persons that transport food; and persons who place food directly in contact with its finished container. Both of these booklets can be downloaded as PDFs from http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/fsbtbook.html.

Other Small Entity Compliance Guides are available on this webpage as well.
