At
least two federal inspectors from Hallmark/Westland Meat
Packing Co. have been placed on paid administrative leave
following the largest beef recall in U.S. history, according
to a union leader, the Associated Press reported.
Stan Painter, chairman of the National Joint Council of
Food Inspection Locals, said USDA confirmed the suspensions
of a floor inspector and a veterinarian from Hallmark/Westland,
the AP reported. Painter said he heard a third inspector
was also placed on leave, but could not confirm that with
USDA, according to the AP . |
