Kansas
State University, in cooperation with the North American
Meat Processors Association, the American Association of
Meat Processors and the American Meat Institute, is conducting
a survey on food defense preparedness among meat and poultry
plants.
The goal is to better understand processor needs in setting
up and operating food security programs and develop effective
training materials and other tools based on survey responses.
K-State is asking employees of large, small and very small
meat and poultry processing plants who are involved with
or responsible for food defense preparedness activities
to participate. All responses are confidential, and because
results will only be compiled in summary form by respondent
groups, information from individual facilities will not
be examined.
