FSIS Uniform Compliance Date For New Food Labeling Regulations
 

The Food Safety Inspection Service's (FSIS) uniform compliance date is January 1, 2010 for new food labeling regulations issued between January 1, 2007 and December. 31, 2008. This final rule becomes effective March 5, 2007.

According to the final rule, "Industry will be able to plan for the use of label inventories and develop new labeling materials that meet the requirements of all labeling regulations made within the two year period, thereby minimizing the economic impact of labeling changes."
