The SBA maintains and strengthens the nation's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting and protecting the interests of small businesses and by helping families and businesses recover from national disasters.

  

National SBA Ombudsman

The National Ombudsman's primary mission is to assist small businesses when they experience excessive federal regulatory enforcement actions, such as repetitive audits or investigations, excessive fines, penalties, threats, retaliation or other unfair enforcement action by a federal agency.

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

The USDA provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, and related issues based on sound public policy, the best available science, and efficient management. The agency also provides the integrated program delivery needed to lead a rapidly evolving food and agriculture system.

USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS)

The Agricultural Marketing Service includes six commodity programs-Cotton, Dairy, Fruit and Vegetable, Livestock and Seed, Poultry, and Tobacco. The programs employ specialists who provide standardization, grading and market news services for those commodities. They enforce such Federal Laws as the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act and the Federal Seed Act.

The Animal and Plant Health inspection Service (APHIS) is responsible for protecting and promoting U.S. agricultural health, administering the Animal Welfare Act, and carrying out wildlife damage management activities.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture responsible for ensuring that the nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled and packaged.

The TSC serves as the Agency's center for technical assistance, advice, and guidance regarding the implementation of national policies, programs, systems, and procedures including implementation of the farm-to-table food safety strategy within a HACCP framework. The TSC also assists in the implementation of this strategy and serves as the feedback mechanism relating to changes and refinements in existing systems and procedures.
