The convention manager of the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) will resign from the organization effective Thursday, March 12.
Marcia Nixon has worked as the convention manager since August 2013. Before that, she provided meeting planning and support to several associations throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
“Marcia has played a critical role in the development and success of the association,” said Executive Director Chris Young. “We cannot thank her enough for the passion, enthusiasm and motivation she has given to AAMP these past seven years. We wish her the best of luck in her new endeavor.”
Young says the association will work to fill the position as soon as possible. In the interim, members should direct convention questions to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the AAMP office at 717-367-1168.
“While I have a mix of emotions as I move into this next chapter of my career, I will be able to continue to the work that has become to important to me,” said Nixon. “I want to give my deepest gratitude to all who have been so supportive of the association and me personally over the years: staff, board members, and the membership as a whole.”
Nixon will now serve as the executive assistant at the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Members are welcome to send well wishes to email@example.com until Thursday, March 12.
