FSIS to Host Small Plant Roundtable in Portland, OR

FSIS leadership will be holding a Small Plant Roundtable at Lewis & Clark College on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time. This meeting is being held in person, with an online and phone option for those who cannot attend in person.

The purpose of the roundtable will be for small establishment owners to hear important updates, and to share their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions directly with FSIS leadership from the District Office and Washington, D.C. This provides FSIS a chance to create positive changes by hearing directly from establishments.

This meeting will cover topics such as labeling approval, humane handling issues, the Food Safety Assessment process, and communications with the District Office, including applying for and updating the Grant of Inspection.

Please RSVP using the Oregon Small Establishment Survey link if you plan to attend in person or virtually. Attendees will be given the opportunity to ask questions during the roundtable. You can also submit your questions or suggest topics in advance through the survey link. Simply type in your information and any questions you would like to be addressed and click the “Done” button in the survey.

If you are able to attend the meeting in person, parking is available in Fir Acres Parking Lot. When you arrive on campus proceed to Gate 2 on S N Dr., which is off S. Palatine Hill Rd. and keep going to the end of the internal roadway to the very end to Fir Acres Parking Lot E, the last parking lot/dead-end. From the Parking Lot, proceed through the path to Miller Hall. Once you arrive inside the building you will need to take the stairs or elevator down to the first floor to Room 102. If stairs are used, the room is almost right in front of you, if the elevator is taken you will go down the hallway and the room will be on your right.
