ChopLocal Announces Spring 2024 Webinar Series for Niche Meat Producers

ChopLocal will be offering its third round of educational webinars to help farmers, small meat processors, and fishermen increase their sales through ecommerce.
ChopLocal, an online farmer's market for niche meat producers will be offering its third round of educational webinars to help farmers, small meat processors, and fishermen increase their sales through ecommerce. The grant-funded webinar series kicks off on January 16 with the first of four educational opportunities.

The first webinar, offered on January 16, will focus on helping livestock farmers and small processors prepare for the USDA Value Added Producer Grant. Stephen Ussery, founder of Stewards Unlimited, an agricultural grant writing service, will lead the session. The webinar will briefly review grant requirements before moving into examples of project budgets, record requirements and cash matches. Participants are encouraged to submit questions to help further prepare them for the grant writing process.

Join ChopLocal on February 13 for 'From Freezer to Front Door: A Deep Dive into Shipping Frozen Meat'. This will be an enhanced and updated version of ChopLocal's popular shipping webinar. Shipping frozen meat can be intimidating, from the selecting the best materials to finding a shipping service that is as inexpensive as possible. This training will cover where you can purchase cost-effective packaging, determine which coolant is right for you, and how to pack your shipments most efficiently.

Farmer's market season is just around the corner, and in March, we will be hosting ‘Harnessing Point of Sale Data for a Successful Farmers Market Season'. This webinar will feature Matt LeRoux, Extension Specialist with Cornell University and several ChopLocal vendors with years of farmers market experience. LeRoux will share results from a multi-year study focused on how Point of Sale data can help you increase profits. Vendors will then share their best tips for how you can prepare for a successful 2024 farmers market season.

The series will be wrapped up on April 9 with ‘Leveraging AI for Your D2C Meat Business'. Artificial intelligence can be an extremely effective marketing tool for your direct-to-consumer meat business. This webinar will cover the do's and don'ts of AI, discuss the benefits it can provide, and demonstrate real-life examples of how you can apply AI in your business.

These educational opportunities are free to all niche meat producers. To learn more or register, visit https://sell.choplocal.com/local-meat-marketing-resources
