Best of Show and Silver Saw Blade Awarded to Hermann Wurst Haus at the Missouri Association Meat Processors Competition

The Hermann Wurst Haus and Fulton Wurst Haus won a combined total of 24 prestigious awards for their artisan, hand-crafted smoked sausages, and smoked meats at the Missouri Association of Meat Processors 85th annual convention and trade show.
The Hermann Wurst Haus and Fulton Wurst Haus won a combined total of 24 prestigious awards for their artisan, hand-crafted smoked sausages, and smoked meats at the Missouri Association of Meat Processors 85th annual convention and trade show held at Holiday Inn Executive Center, Columbia, Mo, March 1-3, 2024, at this statewide Meat Product Competition.Hermann Wurst Haus received the coveted Best of Show Award for Sweet Bologna, at the annual MAMP Competition. Hermann Wurst Haus was a recipient of the Silver Saw Blade Award for recruiting new members.
The Hermann Wurst Haus received 13 product awards including the Best of Show Award for Sweet Bologna; Grand Champion for Sweet Bologna, Summer Sausage, Boneless Pork Chops, Cooked Ring Bologna, Reserve Grand Champion for Sweet Bologna with Cheese and Jalapeños, Best of Show Bratwurst - Smoked and Cooked Sausage Category, and Dry Cured Bacon; Champion for German Bologna, Franks and Wieners, and Restructured Jerky; Reserve Champion for Cherry Chipotle Snack Sticks and Pork Honey BBQ Jerky.
The Fulton Wurst Haus received 10 product awards including Grand Champion for Pineapple Teriyaki Snack Sticks; Reserve Grand Champion for Sweet Bologna, Cooked Ring Bologna, Summer Sausage, Pork Peppered Teriyaki Jerky, and Restructured Jerky; Champion for Boneless Pork Chop and Sweet Bologna with Cheese and Jalapeños; Reserve Champion for Hickory Smoked Bacon – Bacon Category, and Applewood Smoked Bacon – Flavored Bacon Category.
"We are pleased and excited to represent our Hermann and Fulton communities in this state-wide meat competition! Our Sweet Bologna recipe is a customer favorite and has won multiple International and National awards over the years." said owner Wurstmeister Mike Sloan.
Hermann Wurst Haus and Fulton Wurst Haus offer these products in their retail stores and produce venison products for individuals who are game hunters.
The competition - the only Missouri state contest of its kind, selected the finest examples of cured and smoked specialty items from over 240 products entered in 22 different classes including hams, bacon, sausages, ring bologna, jerky snack sticks, smoked turkey, and luncheon meats. In addition to the Meat Products Competition, one of the highlights of this convention was the 90-booth Trade Show featuring the latest meat processing equipment, supplies, and services.
The Missouri Association of Meat Processors was founded in 1939. Currently, it represents more than 140 small and medium size meat processing operations. MAMP's objectives are to assist small meat plants to produce safe products, and to help them create “niche” markets that enable them to provide services that meet the needs of the consumer.
