Gateway Engineering announces the launch of its new 'Spice Device' which focuses on employee safety and retention.
Situation or Challenge: Employee Safety & Retention
The current way of manually introducing a 40 plus pound bag of spices/premixed seasonings caused an extremely noticeable “dust plume” while processing, which in turn caused breathing and eye irritant issues for the operator, as well as anyone in close proximity even while wearing proper supplied personal protective equipment (PPE).
Our design for the “Spice Device” was to all but remove or greatly remove/control the irritating dust plume, vibrate the material through with pneumatic vibrators attached to the sifter into a batch-specific sized easy to handle tub w/lid. The all-Stainless-Steel design has easy-clean features incorporated throughout. Locking swivel casters do allow for work center removal for daily sanitation or safe storing when not in use.
