Business Development Director
As Business Development Director you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding our company’s reach.  Your primary focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships and enhancing revenue streams.  This position will take a leadership role to interface with cross-functional peers and managers addressing various business challenges. This position will report to the CEO
Supervisory Responsibilities:  
  •  Existing Customers
    • Improve communication and relationships
      • Create a total sales organization improving customer experience
      • Work directly with key clients as needed
      • Identify and help execute additional opportunities resulting in additional revenue
    • Increase revenue by identifying additional services to existing customers
      • Develop incentive programs for customers including discounts for exceeding forecasts and quick turn fill in work
      • New market development cost share
  • Business Development
    • Research and analyze businesses utilizing meat co-packing services and identify opportunities
    • Identify opportunities and sales channels for bi-products
    • Find highest revenue opportunity for product seconds
    • Establish initial product specifications and establish pricing
  • New Business Sales
    • Take ownership in the pipeline and sales process
    • Close new opportunities
    • Ensure seamless onboarding process
  • Develop internal skillsets
    • Identify and document customer and product onboarding process
    • Collaborate with internal teams to identify growth potential and create sales goals
    • Utilize and identify business reports existing or necessary to perform duties
Expectations/Measurements of Success:
  • Revenue and Margins
    • Increased revenue and margins for existing customers
    • New business revenue and margins
    • Increase rendering revenue and margin
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Meat processing and packaging experience
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and accurate
  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage projects
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, adapt and promote change
  • Knowledge of manufacturing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to actively listen, problem solve, and communicate well with other departments
  • Must be able to handle a diverse workload, frequent interruptions, multiple tasks and deadlines as well as doing projects for multiple people
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite,  Quick Books experience is a plus
  • Excellent presentation and facilitator skills
  • Adapt with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Related experience considered in lieu of education.
  • Six or more years of experience working in business development for meat processing operations.
Work Environment:
This may be an onsite or remote position with at least one week twice a year at the production facility.  
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Must be able to frequently communicate with others and sit for prolonged periods at a desk working on a computer. Must occasionally stand/walk.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is an exempt full-time position.  Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be requested.
