Assistant Plant Manager - Processing
This position is responsible for assisting Plant/General Manager in overall supervision of 45,000 square foot North Carolina local meat processing facility.
- Strong experience in meat cutting from fabrication of beef and pork primals to retail ready product.
- Knowledge of production equipment including grinders, patty machines, sausage stuffers, roll stock and double chamber vacuum seal machines and other similar equipment.
- Daily responsibilities include; provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements, interpret and enforce company policies, assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations, prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately, solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up, work with floor supervisors to meet production quality yields while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product, inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping safety sanitation security and food safety, manage evaluate and train production personnel.

Requirements |
High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
Experience, 10 plus years of related industry; 5 plus years supervisory experience in a pork/beef meat processing facility.
Knowledge of OSHA USDA and HAACP regulations.
Standard computer skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all employees from hourly to upper management as well as government officials.
Manage floor supervisors who supervise production in the plant, carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies.
Plan assign and direct work, monitor and appraise work performance. Lead people by example accept and delegate responsibility, follow-up, sound judgment and decision-making skills; problem solving in an efficient manner.
Strong managerial skills necessary, excellent safety and attendance records.
