Obama administration to appeal WTO COOL ruling

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack told the DTN/The Progressive Farmer that the Obama Administration will appeal the World Trade Organizations (WTO) ruling against the U.S. country of origin labeling (COOL) rule, but it would not appeal until sometime in January. The WTO says the delay is because it cannot process any additional appeals before then, due to the level of work at the WTO that is currently in the process. There is still a chance that the U.S. will decide not to appeal the ruling and that decision would come from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
